Our Three Step Approach to Jobs

Education and meaningful employment are inseparably connected.  The extreme poor in the Philippines rarely progress beyond a 3rd grade education relegating them to low paying temp jobs without health or retirement benefits.


It has been well demonstrated that children of the extreme poor continue in generational poverty due to their lack of education which is often associated with malnourishment and the impact this inflicts upon learning capacity and school attendance.



We work to  break this pattern through our 5 month Nutrition and Education program which provides highly nutritional meals to malnourished children which improves school attendance and learning acuity.

Job Creation has been the process by which every nation has brought prosperity to its citizens.  Living wage jobs not only lift the wage earner's family, it impacts local shop owners, service providers, increases the local tax base and more.

We currently provide meaningful employment to 175+ Filipinos at 3 community Learning and Gardening Centers.  Our employee base includes senior leadership, mid-level management, and varied staff positions working as nutrition coordinators, hydroponic gardeners (greenhouse and soil), construction teams and maintenance personnel. Eighty percent of our employe base work in one of the many hydroponic based farming jobs. Prior to being hired nearly all were unemployed and among the extreme poor earning $800 to $1100 annually.  Most have a 2nd or 3rd grade education, some are illiterate and nearly all had families that were malnourished.

With employment at Rise and Rebuild their incomes grow by two to three hundred percent.  They also receive health and social security benefits for the first time in their lives.  Additionally their families are no longer malnourished.


In addition to increased income and benefits, we also provide technical job skills and self-reliance training including practical life skills.



Vocational Training offers additional hope and opportunity to the poor.  Many of the poor are capable and motivated, but they simply lack education and the resources to gain the training necessary to obtain meaningful and available jobs. 

We are in the early stages partnering with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to provide vocational training at our LGCs.  For as little as $270 a course, a student can obtain the skills, Certificate of Graduation and placement into a meaningful living wage job. MORE

In our future partnership with TESDA we will identify and assess the potential of prospective candidates for the vocational training.  We then provide the funding (this is where you come in) and facilitate the training at one of our Learning and Gardening Centers.  


We then provide the facilities and materials and TESDA provides the instructors, curriculum and upon graduation Certificates which are accepted throughout the Philippines and abroad signifying the competency of the graduate. 

TESDA offers over 500 courses in wide range of vocations ranging in cost from $100 to $700, with many courses averaging $270 .  A sampling of courses include:

- Automotive repair and maintenance
- Truck driving
- Cosmetology and beauty care courses
- Dental assistant
- Healthcare services
- Refrigeration and air conditioning
- Construction trades
- Literacy courses
