Rise and Rebuild Foundation seeks to help Filipino families escape chronic poverty through Nutrition, Education, Jobs and the adoption of Self-Reliance principals.

Creating Sustainable Impact

Poverty in the Philippines is rampant, primarily due to the low earning capacity of the poor and their access to regular and productive jobs. The root cause of this condition is the low education level of the poor (often at second or third grade level) and the scarcity of meaningful jobs.

Accordingly, UNICEF and the World Bank reported that in 2022 more than 32 million children and 10 million women in the Philippines are living in extreme poverty on less than $2.15/day. A better estimate may be that half the population is living in poverty. LEARN MORE

Nutrition and Education are key components in our efforts to break chronic generational poverty.  Partnering with local governments, schools and parents we help the most vulnerable poverty-stricken children, and pregnant and nursing mothers, receive proper nutrition and meaningful education.

This is made possible through our targeted nutrition programs in Schools and Barangays focused on malnourished children under the age of 12.   We provide a balanced meal, packed with critical nutrients and minerals each weekday.  Our Nutrition Coordinators also visit the homes of all participants providing hygiene,  sanitation and nutrition education for parents and follow-up encouragement.

Job Creation and Self Reliance
training are integral to our efforts to help the poor.  We seek to create meaningful jobs paying living wages which greatly impacts the lives of our employees and their families.

They receive technical and leadership skills in farming and hydroponics as well self-reliance training in planning, money management, accountability and more.

To build on the technical farming skills we now develop among our farmers, we are exploring the expansion of our offering to eventually include non-farm vocational skills.  LEARN MORE

Financially Sustaining Solutions

In-Country Self Sustaining Operations is a core principle for Rise and Rebuild. We are actively pursuing recurring income producing initiatives in the Philippines that can help offset operating expense. We anticipate that these efforts will allow local operations to be largely funded by local income efforts in the next few years.  As we succeed, we will be able to use US charitable donations to reach more children and families through growth and capital projects.  LEARN MORE

Our Learning and Gardening Centers are the heart of our operations.  Employing 175 Filipinos, this year they will produce 350+ tons of food to support our school and Barangay nutrition programs.  While currently revenue neutral plans are underway so that they might become completely financially independent in the future.
